Longest Walk Ever

Bennie and I went for a super-long walk today. In total, we were out walking for nearly 2.5 hours and visited the Jefferson Memorial, the FDR Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the WW II Memorial, the Washington Monument and finished back at the Jefferson Memorial where I had parked.

Here he is at the FDR Memorial. Bennie is smelling Statue President Roosevelt’s shoe.

Here his is standing in the bread line. The irony is, I had to bribe him with a pile of treats to get him to stand in line for the picture. I happened to snap the picture just as he was looking up at a bird.

Here he is listening to a Fireside Chat (the Park Service Ranger walking through the Memorial thought this was hilarious)…

Here he is at the Lincoln Memorial. I had to bribe him with a stick to get him to stand atop the stairs. He’s looking a lot like I look at my mom when she takes my picture. Sorry, mom. Now I know how you feel when you just want to document precious moments.

Here he is at the Jefferson Memorial. I had to take the picture from the back of the Memorial because construction equipment is parked in front (the side of the Tidal Basin). The wall along the Tidal Basin began sinking into the water so construction crews are working to prop the wall back up. We were both pretty worn out by this point so this is the best picture I could get.

His status after our long walk was: tuckered out
